Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida (www.jaswfl.org) named the members of its 2012 Business Hall of Fame, Collier County Advisory Board, which selects Laureates. The chair is John English of Barron Collier Cos. and the vice chair is Dr. Paul Jones. Other members selected to this year’s advisory board are Wilma Boyd, president/CEO of Preferred Travel of Naples; Carleton Case, vice president of business development of Brown & Brown Benefits; Clay W. Cone, president of Cone Communications Co.; Kristin Conroy, attorney with Conroy, Conroy & Durant; Carl Howes, vice president/controller of Pachira Co.; Jerry Nichols, executive vice president of Brown & Brown Benefits; Craig Sherman, senior vice president of commercial lending Collier for CNL Bank; Katie Sproul, vice president of real estate for Barron Collier Cos.; Lisa Barnett Van Dien, attorney at Cheffy Passidomo; and Len Zaiser IV of Azimuth Technology Inc.
Kathy Saenz Gulvas has been named Vice President of Communications at The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce (The Chamber) effective June 25, 2012, Michael V. Reagen, Chamber President and CEO, announced today.
In her new role, Ms. Gulvas brings her experience as a former local TV news reporter and corporate manager to the Chamber’s communication programs, utilized for advancing the Chamber’s mission and five platforms: Member Services, Leadership Development, The Partnership for Collier’s Future Prosperity, Public Communications and Public Policy. As the Vice President of Communications, Gulvas will also serve as Editor for the Chamber’s monthly publication Business Currents.
She succeeds Marci Seamples who has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce in North Dakota. Williston has recently received national and international media attention as it sits atop the Bakken formation which by the end of 2012 is predicted to produce more oil than any other site in the United States.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Gulvas served as Corporate Communications Manager for INgage Networks in Naples. She also spent three years as the Collier County Bureau Reporter for WFTX-TV Fox 4 News.
Named one of Gulfshore Business magazine’s 40 Under 40 rising business stars in Southwest Florida in 2010, she serves as the Immediate Past President of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Gulf Coast Chapter. Born and raised in Southwest Florida, Kathy graduated from Lely High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication with a minor in Political Science from Florida State University where she graduated with honors.
